We wanted to provide you with a quick update, although in truth we don’t have much real news to share!
We want to begin with thanking you once again for your support for us. We have been overwhelmed by the response to our previous emails. Thank you too for the generous pledges that have come in. We currently have pledges amounting to approximately £250,000 which has been a huge encouragement. Obviously we are not in a position to make an offer at this stage, but people’s generosity has been a real source of blessing to us. We are still taking pledges, so please contact the office if this is something you’d like to do.
St Oswald’s has been on the market for about 3 weeks now and there have been a number of viewings already. Viewings tend to be on Mondays and Fridays, with approximately 6 parties viewing each time. As you can imagine, this in itself is hugely unsettling for the Community as people are not only looking around guest areas but also our homes. We are thankful for the gracious manner and sensitivity of the viewing agent who has been incredibly respectful and endeavours to make a painful situation as easy as it can be.
We are currently exploring relationships with a couple of possible investors. These contacts have given us hope, although we are aware that any future partnership has to be workable and sustainable for all parties, so we proceed with caution!
We have a Community & Trustees’ gathering this weekend where we will be spending time together to take an honest look at our current situation and what our options for the future are.
We would very much value your prayers for us as living with this level of uncertainty is taking its toll on the Community. Please also pray for our forthcoming Community & Trustee weekend.
