June 2022

Dear Friends

We hope that you are well, and enjoying the early Summer weather. Our garden is bursting into life and even today we’ve discovered 2 wild orchids in the lower lawn (which is double last year’s count!) All of this is a constant reminder of God’s creative presence.

We’re enjoying seeing a steady flow of guests joining us for both catered and self-catered breaks. Here are some of the events happening this year, along with some ‘windows’ of availability for catered visits over the summer months where the house is open for you to come and ‘be’…

We are delighted that our team is slowly growing! We have a number of lovely people staying with us at the moment (Sally, Audrey & Jane – pictured) who are exploring what their future connection with our community might look like. There are several others who we are also in conversation with, so please pray for us (and them) as together we work out what the future shape of Community might be. Exciting times…watch this space!

As the weather is improving we are looking at how we can better help our guests enjoy the beautiful grounds here: the glory of the garden, the stunning views and the peace that comes with being able to slow down and enjoy the space.  We have a few benches (which Audrey has spruced up for us!) but we’d love to place more around the place.  We also have a quirky outbuilding and courtyard area known as ‘The Cock Pit’. This area has been well used as a prayer space in the past but is now in need of some restoration to make that part of the garden more comfortable to spend time in.

So…with this in view, we are hoping to buy some more benches and cover the cost of carpentry repairs to the Cock Pit doors and windows.  If you would like to contribute financially towards these projects then any donations would be very much appreciated. For those who’d like to donate via BACS, our bank details are: St Oswalds Community Acc: 65995121 Sort: 08-92-99

This comes with our love, prayers, and hopes to see you soon,

Jackie, Michyla, Paul, Sally, Audrey & Jane
